Cologne is the fourth largest city in Germany. Situated on the river Rhine, it is one of the most prominent travel destinations in Germany and Europe. With its one million inhabitants, it is a very lively and dynamic metropolis.  The open and warm-hearted character of the locals creates a unique atmosphere.

The city offers a wide range of cultural and social activities. Many events like the world famous Cologne Carnival, Cologne Lights and some spectacular concerts take place in Cologne. University of Cologne

The University of Cologne, founded in 1388, is considered one of the oldest Universities of Europe. Currently, 43 000 students are enrolled at the University of Cologne, 11% of whom are foreigners. In recognition of its high-level research and teaching, the University of Cologne was recently granted the title of Excellence University. The well-established, high-profile industries in Cologne and the surrounding region have high international visibility.
