Dr. Jamie Whitfield is a senior lecturer and exercise physiologist at Australian Catholic University (ACU)
based in Melbourne, Australia.
His research utilises complementary cell, rodent, and human models to address central questions related to physiology and
nutrition. Since joining ACU in 2017, he has led applied studies in elite endurance athletes, including controlled
“research-embedded training camp” models where training, diet, and physiological responses are comprehensively monitored
under real-world conditions. Currently his work is focused on determining how altering nutrient availability impacts skeletal
muscle metabolism, and whether it can promote or inhibit training adaptation and, ultimately, human performance capacity.
