In our complex world, scientists must remain pioneers both in the questions they ask and the answers they find. The ability to react with the necessary flexibility requires funding that can be deployed rapidly and unbureaucratically - for example, funding provided through private sponsorship, company donations or sponsoring.

We offer you a variety of opportunities to use your resources and your ideas to help fulfill the goals of basic research at the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing.

Make a difference by ...

  • supporting selected research projects that are important to you personally,
  • adding to the endowment capital of the Max Planck Foundation,
  • setting up a foundation under the auspices of the Max Planck Society,
  • remembering the Max Planck Society or Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing in your will.

Support innovation and guarantee excellence by ...

  • establishing new departments or Max Planck Research Groups that address new areas of research
  • establishing grants for talented Ph.D students and Postdocs or funding outstanding group leader positions for outstanding scientists
  • funding invitations to leading researchers to take part in research semesters
  • providing for invitations to give presentations or attend symposia
  • creating optimum personal working conditions for researchers.

The broad spectrum of future-oriented research topics offers exceptional and individual opportunities for you to lend your support - select your personal vision of the future.

If we have raised your interest, please contact us. We will work with you to find the best way in which to put your contribution to optimum use.

One example

One of our generously supported projects is the Max Planck Research Group "Skin Homeostasis and Ageing" of Dr. Sara Wickström.

At the MPI for Biology of Ageing, the successful young scientist heads since September 2010 one out of three so-called Paul Gerson Unna Research Groups of the Max Planck Foundation.
