AGE ART - Science meets Music

Speaker: Dr. Peter Walter (UCSF)
Organizer: Helen Antebi (MPI for Biology of Ageing)

Dr. Peter Walter from the University of California, San Francisco has won numerous awards and recognition in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology, including the Lasker Award, the Shaw Prize and Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences. In his talk "The Art of Protein Origami" he will focus on proteins, how cells fold them properly and why mistakes in protein folding lead to ageing and ageing related diseases such as cancer, alzheimer or diabetes.

The SIGNUM Saxophone Quartet is a star in its own right. They are one of the most sought after young musicians in the concert circuit today. The four musicians Blaž Kemperle, Hayrapet Arakelyan, Alan Lužar and Guerino Bellarosa will play selected pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Alberto Ginastera, Leonard Bernstein and "Chick" Corea.

The event will be held in English. Entrance is free. As space is limited please register via our online registration form.
