3rd Career Perspectives’ Panel Discussion

Organizer: Career Network of the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing

The panel discussion will consist of a brief introduction of the invited panel members that have chosen different career paths after finishing their PhD, followed by a discussion of the panel members with the audience (PhD students and Postdocs of the MPI for Biology of Ageing and neighbouring institutes).

Our panel will consist of members with the following careers:   

  • Research Manager
  • Group Leader
  • Application Specialist
  • Research and Development Manager
  • Science Writer/Project Manager
  • Technical Regulatory Group Director
  • Government Advisor

  • Katharina Filarsky – R&D manager
  • Nadia Storm – Government advisor
  • OrsolyaSymmons – Research manager
  • Roza Kardakaris – Science writer
  • Sophie Steculorum – Group leader
  • Sabine Koplin – Technical regulatory group director

After the panel discussion, there will be the opportunity for informal meetings with the speakers, taking place from 3:45 - 5:00 pm.

We are planning to discuss a broad range of topics, including daily activities, required skills, work-life balance and recruitment procedures. If you have a specific topic that you would like to be discussed, please let us know.

On this evening, American pianist Hilda Huang will play the music by Bach and Beethoven and the biologist Ueli Schibler will examine the circadian clock in his lecture entitled "The Circadian Symphony: a 24-hour clock in every body cell".
