Established in 2007, the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing is still a young institute - but it is growing fast. Within the developing life science cluster of our partner organizations in the Cologne/ Bonn area we pursue our research at the forefront of basic biomedical science.

Along with our aim to foster an interdisciplinary and international research environment, we have established the Cologne Graduate School of Ageing Research as a joint venture between the IMPRS AGE and the CECAD Graduate School. Our Graduate School offers PhD fellowships for a structured doctoral training in ageing research for classes starting in October each year.

We also have a PhD and a postdoc committee that aim to represent the interests and well-being of the graduate student and postdoctoral body at our institute. Their role is to facilitate communication between the young researchers and the directors of the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing. They are also aiming at creating a social and intellectual network among the postdocs and PhD students. You can reach both the PhD and postdoc representatives via email.

Besides, we are always looking for excellent junior and senior scientists motivated in joining our international research community! Our working language is English.
