PhD Programme
We offer an international and stimulating research environment through the International Max Planck Research School on Ageing (IMPRS on Ageing), distinguished by excellent supervision, a structured PhD training programme, and state-of-the-art facilities.
All PhD students at our institute are members of the IMPRS on Ageing, whether they join individually or through the annual call of the Cologne Graduate School of Ageing Research (CGA).
The Cologne Graduate School of Ageing Research is a joined programme between the CECAD Excellence Cluster and the Max Planck Institutes for Biology of Ageing and Metabolism Research. It provides fully funded PhD positions to highly motivated and talented students holding a Master’s degree in the life sciences, who are interested in pursuing research in the dynamic field of ageing research.
Our IMPRS is committed to creating outstanding opportunities for our young scientists. We encourage early independence and actively support career development through travel grants, workshops, lectures, and scientific retreats. In addition, our dedicated IMPRS coordination team offers personal guidance and administrative support. We warmly invite you to reach out and become part of our vibrant scientific community, if you are motivated to do your PhD in ageing research.
