Organisation
The Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing is led by the directors, who are jointly responsible for all decisions concerning the Institute's affairs. The administration and research coordination support the directors and are responsible for the infrastructural backbone of the institute.
Directors
Scientific Coordination
The Scientific Coordinator, Gabriella Lundkvist, advises and supports the Directorate on research management issues and the implementation of its decisions. She is responsible for a wide range of services provided to the Institute's researchers, from strategic recruitment to the management of scientific services, including Core Facilities. She also leads the career network activities for early career researchers.
Administration
The administration is headed by Michael Heinrichs, who is responsible for organizing the non-academic services to support the scientific work of the institute as efficiently as possible. Researchers are supported with day-to-day tasks, such as organizing travel arrangements, or helping international newcomers. The administration includes a Human Resources team, an Accounting office and a Purchasing and Procurement department – all of which serve as service providers for the scientific departments, research groups and core facilities.
