About Prof. de Magalhães' talk:

Ageing is the major biomedical challenge of the 21st century, yet it remains poorly understood, in part due to its intrinsic complexity. In this talk, I will present computational approaches to decipher the genetic and molecular basis of ageing. I will highlight network-based and machine learning methods to predict longevity-associated genes and compounds, which we validated experimentally. Lastly, I will discuss our efforts to identify key open questions in ageing biology and develop a roadmap to guide future progress in biogerontology.

This event is aimed at a specialist audience.
